I lost my wallet two weeks ago at at trailhead where I was parked for a run. That day, I went back to look for it, but it was nowhere to be found. I cancelled my credit cards and began the process of getting a new ID.
Today, while I was doing some yard work, someone pulled into my driveway and yelled out his window, “Are you Jeff? Did you lose a wallet?”
Turns out a Good Samaritan found it and took the time to drive it to my house. Nothing was out of place in the wallet, although it did appear to be weathered by the storms we’ve been getting the past few weeks.
The good Samaritan’s name was Tom. I thanked him profusely, shook his hand, and then he was on his way.
There are still good people in this world. I look forward to paying this act of kindness forward at some point in the future.
