I always wake up with a sense of optimism on Election Day. This optimism isn’t tied to my desired outcome or the potential for the results I’d like to see, but rather an optimistic belief in the system that serves as the foundational pillar to our democracy.
Voting is our basic rite to influence the mechanics of society and drive progress toward the world in which we want to live – the world we want for ourselves, our kids, and our neighbors. Of course, the system isn’t perfect and it has flaws, but it’s designed to evolve with guardrails and voting is the primary way to evolve it. That’s kind of beautiful.
Our vote is our voice. This American experiment only works if we speak at the ballot box. Let’s be heard.
